I do hope you're not suggesting that what rights you have depends on your gender or race. Or sexual orientation.

That's simply false.

Eh?

The point is of course, that people also do not choose their sexual orientation.

And what if they did? Why would that make discrimination okay?

Xcept2010 implied that there were equal rights for conditions you could not choose, and that it would therefore be all right to discriminate against conditions that were chosen voluntarily. I pointed out that even assuming his own argument was true - which it is not - he is wrong.

Okay!
It just gave the impression that you accepted the premise.

You choose you be gay, just as you can choose not to be.

Even assuming (erroneously) that homosexuality is a choice, since when do we not allow people equal rights even as regards chosen lifestyles? After all, you choose your religion, and we still guarantee people of all faiths the same rights. We don't decide, "well, we don't have to respect Christians' rights, because they chose to be Christians." No, it's your choice, so long as you don't hurt anyone. And so long as gays aren't hurting anyone (and most of them aren't), why do you care? Yes, if a homosexual commits a crime, arrest them, but not for being gay--for being a criminal.

People of all faiths have rights as people, not because of their faith. Seriously.

A gay person has rights as a man, or woman. not because they are gay, they don't get extra rights because of this.

But they also should not get fewer rights.

They do not get fewer rights. They have the same rights.

A man who doesn't like to wear clothes in public, doesn't have the right to parade around naked in front of other people.

so I guess he gets less rights than others? No, wrong. He just doesn't have the right to be an asshat and parade around in the buff just because he chooses to do so.

This is honestly the most ignorant debate Ihave been in my entire life.

They, for instance, do not get the right to marry the person they love.

I guess you've never heard of nudist camps.

Nevertheless, this is obviously not something gays claim to lack as a right compared to straights.

You indeed seem to be completely out of touch with what the gay rights movement is actually asking for.
